THE TAGGART GROUP PTY LTD was formed in 1987 to meet personal, and corporate needs for advice in relation to all financial services including general insurance and personal insurance. In the early 1990's Taggart Nominees Pty Ltd was formed to operate the Financial Planning and Life Insurance business and the Taggart Group Pty Ltd maintained operation of the General Insurance business.
In December 2003 Taggart Nominees Pty Ltd was granted an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL)No 234973, by the Australian Securities & Investment Commission (ASIC). Taggart Nominees Pty Ltd is authorised to provide Financial Services in most financial service products expect General Insurance. Taggart Nominees Pty Ltd commenced operating under their AFSL on Monday 19 January 2004.
The Taggart Group Pty Ltd was granted an Australian Financial Services Licence, number 245533, and is authorised to provide General Insurance financial services. The Taggart Group Pty Ltd commenced operating under their AFSL on 1 March 2004.
Since commencement, the success of both businesses has been achieved through a high work rate and excellent support structure.

Management Profiles
Dr Jim Taggart OAM. B.A., M.A., M.Com., Dip Teach, A.L.A., CFP, FChFP, QPIB.
Jim's career began as a Teacher and a Deputy Principal of a Catholic High School. Since entering the field of financial planning in 1987, he has successfully developed his businesses to service nearly 6,000 clients in which his organisations provide advice on General Insurance, Personal Insurance and Superannuation.
Also during this time Jim has completed another Masters Degree in Commerce, majoring in Financial Planning to add to his other qualifications of Diploma of Teaching, Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from Macquarie University. Jim completed his Doctorate in Business Administration, and was awarded his degree in April 2010. Jim is a Certified Financial Planner with the Financial Planning Association of Australia, and holds the FChFP designation from the Association of Financial Advisers. Jim is a Representative of Taggart Nominees Pty Ltd, an Australian Financial Services Licensee (no 234973). Jim is also a Representative of The Taggart Group Pty Ltd, an Australian Financial Services Licensee (no 245533).
Jim has lived in the Hills District at Kellyville for over 26 years. Jim has been actively involved in community activities such as: -
Salvation Army - Chairman of the Red Shield Appeal (Western Sydney).
Vice President of Regional Chamber of Commerce 1999 - 2000
Past board member of Gilroy College and Marion College
Past Chair and current member of the Hills Excellence In Business 355 Management Committee

Jim is married and has four children.
Jim has been fortunate to speak at offshore conferences in the areas of Financial Planning and Motivation in such countries as Switzerland, New Zealand and U.S.A.
In 2005 Jim was awarded the Zurich/AFA Financial Adviser of the Year award, and in January 2006 Jim was awarded the 2006 Baulkham Hills Shire Australia Day Community Service Award. Jim received a Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2010 Australia Day honours, and was invested with his medal by the Governor of NSW on 6 May 2010.
